eGreen Scripture: We are Aliens

The land is mine and you are but aliens and my tenants. Throughout the country that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land. Lev. 25:23-24

If you lease an apartment, lease a car, get a hotel room, rent a car, how do you treat it? By the time you are at the end of your use of it are they charging you damage fees? cleaning fees? replacement fees? How much should God charge us for the damage we have done? He calls us from the beginning to be environmental stewards. What the the ways you are being better guests in God's house?

  1. I try to interact in closed-loop systems, i.e., ones that sustain themselves. Although recycling is an option, it's a last resort, and I buy nothing if it cannot be reused or recycled. Reuse is no.1 priority. Better yet, don't buy something that comes in packaging or that you don't really need, or that won't last. It brings to light the real differences between "need" "want", "forethought" and "convenience."
I buy snacks that come in their own packaging such as bananas and apples, clothes that are gently used, eggs from farmers who take my old egg cartons, etc.

  2. Great post. We've always reduced, reused and recycled but we are trying to go even farther with energy cost, green cleaners etc.

  4. Thank you for the compliment and post Stuffsmart ... the transition does have to be a slow one ... otherwise it can be overwhelming. Let me know what you think about the green cleaners ... I have been experimenting with several and going to post a recview soon on it! Thanks again!
